One tip/thing that came to mind for me is sometimes at earlier stage startups, a PMM is hired for the first time while the PM has already been there for a while. Not every PM is well versed on how to work with PMMs or even what goes into PMM (especially if the PM was owning some of this stuff before the PMM was hired). In cases like that I think it’s important to spend time educating the PM about how you work as a PMM, what you need, processes, best ways to collaborate and plan ahead, what they need, etc. so everyone’s in the same page.
